"You are a "slave" only because you choose to be." Well from the Amendment that you noted, I am a slave by decree simply by being born within the captured territory of the Federal Occupational Force.
"Didn't Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission recently establish that corporations are persons?
How could it be that a group of people is considered a person but an individual isn't?"
Didn't read that one Neckercube. What I was trying to say with my babbling was that "persons" have rights that are protected by law, the Constitution specifically, but that "citizens" are merely subjects, and by definition can only have "privileges" given to them by government. Privileges are NOT rights. They can be taken away by whim or "mandate". :D Our country was founded on principles that people are sovereigns with rights that are natural and NOT as a "gift" from government. Our government was only established to protect those rights, not to establish them or "regulate" them or to "provide" them.
Notice for example the Amendment noted above. It "decrees" that henceforth, people are deemed citizens by birth. OUCH! So "our" government essentially strips one of all natural rights at the moment of birth. It turns people into subjects at birth. Frightening...saddening. Conveniently, the tyrants who would pass such an Amendment didn't bother to change the term "person" or "people" throughout the rest of the Constitution into "citizen" as well. LOL...I wonder why that is??? :D
