You won't lose the gains that have already cemented; gains that are underway could diminish a little bit. But one week isn't that much, really. I haven't had bad loss of gains despite several longer breaks due to skin breakouts and whatnots.
It is as long the break is within a limit; don't let that one week grow to another, then a month ... Taking time to inhale and relax is important, but one must focus on the process!
Whenever I had to take a physical break, I wouldn't take so much of mental break; I'd read threads on MoS and soak up in information.
I'm basically repeating myself once again here.
A break here or there, as long as it stays as a short one, is fine. And of course people have surgeries and such but still return to PE without big losses of gains.
