You would have to hold it @ the tip I think. Which might not make for an accurate measurement if it's not @ the exact point of measure. Would be cool if it bounced back from the bone, that way it could measure a fat pad. I see a fat pad as being problematic.
Can always go up there and get some pretty lady to assist you or you can take one back to the shower/toilet section and see how good it works. Just watch for cameras :blush: . Otherwise you're gonna end up on the news w/ the headline being something "they measure all types of wood at home depot".
