If that cloth doesn't end up working for you. You can use foam backed cloth or some type of neoprene. Just cut a hole through that and cut around 1/4" - 1/2" past the OD of the extender base. You can hand wash it every day or every couple of days if it starts to take on the smell of a yeti's armpit.

Would have to just find something to match that diameter (maybe the goliath?). Might try looking @ certain types of weather stripping.
I think the neoprene would work better though, since it's universal as you can cut it to whatever width/length you want.

Erm. I know they make a lot of muscle/leg support products w/ neoprene. They also make neoprene wetsuits.
If you search "neoprene" "safe" or "safety", you see a site on the top talking about the chemicals within. As a rule of thumb, if there is only a few sites talking about it, then I usually push those aside.
I wouldn't worry about it as the product has to breakdown into a molecule small enough(molecular weight) to be absorbed into the skin.
Being a skin irritant is a different story.
