Well I know that there are muscles that connect to the penis that you can work and get them stronger but the penis itself does not have muscles in it right?

I am copy and pasting this paragraph off of yahoo answers when I was looking this up.

"The penis is NOT a muscle, it is simply organ tissue, like the tissue of your stomach or liver. The penis will not grow or shrink for excessive use or lack of use because it is not a muscle, the only growth that occurs is from the blood filling the spongy tissue upon erection. Also, since the penis is not a muscle, you can greatly damage the tissue by putting unnecessary pressure on it, such as is the case with the so called "exercises" and such devices as pumps. And once more, just for clarification, the penis is NOT a muscle, it's just organ tissue and skin."

Now I know he is saying that you can't get the penis bigger because it is not a muscle. BUT we can stretch it an get it longer right? Perhaps not thicker but longer?

So question time:
If you stretch it will it get more pencil like and lose it's thickness?
Will the elongated penis be harder to get erections with because it is longer than what you should have?
Can these exercises cause serious damage? (My guess is no because it's just pushing blood through your shaft)

I don't know, perhaps I sound really stupid asking all this but it piqued my curiosity and I decided to come to the place where somebody should be able to shine some insight on this.

Thanks

That article attempts to oversimplify the penis while being erroneous at the same time. "The penis is not a muscle so you can't enlarge it"- this statement has been repeated so often that a lot of people believe it without a second thought. It exposes the ignorance of the author on matters of penile anatomy.

The penis is composed of fascia (like the kind that covers muscles), smooth muscle tissue, blood vessels, nerves and ligaments (also like the kind attached to muscles). Its function requires that it be capable of expanding to many times its original size. Knowing this, expanding it a little beyond its normal erectile maximum each time using Penis Enlargement exercises shouldn't be that difficult a concept to accept.

Here are some articles that explain penile anatomy. Feel free to post them in the Yahoo Answers page you visited:

To answer your questions:

Q. If you stretch it will it get more pencil like and lose it's thickness?

A. That shouldn't happen. Since you'll be stretching out the penile tunica (which is responsible for containing the penis itself), you'll actually realize some girth gains while stretching. Note that there are girth specific exercises that you can do as well. The only instance where you'll probably see a decrease in girth from stretching is in cases where the penile function is destroyed (and blood flow inhibited), like what happens to some tribes that hang extremely heavy weights and do all sorts of torturous things to their penises.

Q. Will the elongated penis be harder to get erections with because it is longer than what you should have?

A. Not necessarily, although a larger penis is going to require more bloodflow. That's why it's highly recommended that you do stamina work like kegels, etc. along with your Penis Enlargement exercises.

Q. Can these exercises cause serious damage? (My guess is no because it's just pushing blood through your shaft)

A. You can injure yourself if you perform Penis Enlargement exercises incorrectly. The same case can be made for almost any exercise- Penis Enlargement or not. If you go into Penis Enlargement using moderation and patience, you should be injury free.

Nice thread Al!

Thanks!

What's terrible is that you'll find many medical and health sites using that quote in an attempt to convince people that Penis Enlargement doesn't work.

The important role of corpora cavernosal smooth muscle in potency has been known since Goldstein et al reported the first examination of erectile tissue. Normal smooth muscle content and function are necessary for the initiation and maintenance of erection. Published reports suggest that the average penis smooth muscle percent is between 40% and 50%. Our unpublished data confirm this rate with the finding of an incidence of smooth muscle of about 49% in normal potent males in the general population. In contrast, patients with veno-occlusive dysfunction show a much lower percent on microscopic examination. A prior study suggested that these patients have a smooth muscle percent of 10% to 36%.

So my question is, can exercise increase the size of smooth muscles?

It appears that Penis Enlargement works (in part) at stretching the tunica, which allows the Corpora expand more. It would be interesting to see what happens to the spongy bodies from Penis Enlargement on a cellular level.

This, if possible, would prove to limit the length you can gain more than anything. Getting smooth muscle tissue to expand girthwise would also be nothing to write home about. The penis, not being a muscle, is the best thing going for a longer penis.

The penis can expand, if the tunica is expanded. That is the basis of the Italian innovative surgery that takes a vein (smooth muscle tissue)from the thigh, splits it lengthwise, slits the tunica on each side of the penis, and then grafts each vein half into those slits. This creates more smooth muscle tunica tissue for the corpora cavernosa to expand into. The results have caused significant girth gains. So, if you can expand the tunica (in any manner) your create more room for expansion.

Times like this I wish I was close friends with a Urologist

I think we know more on the subject than most Dr.'s combined.

Well ... they may not know too much about Penis Enlargement, but they have dissected penises I'm sure and have a much more broad understanding as to the working of our genitilia.

I may just make an appointment, if I ever do, I'll be sure to post up the answers to my questions ... I have a curve I've been meaning to fix haha

Dissecting a penis is one thing. Knowing how the penis would react to uncommon stressors like Penis Enlargement is another. Most medical professionals are, as a rule, very conservative about their advice. I recall one popular urologist stating [on the internet] that he din't think penis enlargement techniques worked because "the penis doesn't expand". :s

Good thing im going for girth ;)

Length doesn't hurt though if you are listening god!

Nice, he must have gotten his degree from a crackerjack box. As far as an understanding on the penis through dissecting it, I have seen enough of this through video and pictorials that I feel my understanding is as great as any urologist.

Here's the article: http://blogs.weBathmated.com/mens-health-office/2008/04/penis-enlargement-myths-and-facts.html

The clip (emphasis mine):

"After spending more than 20 plus years in urology, it is clear that no pill or cream or vacuum contraption will change your penis size. It is not like the penis is elastic and can be enlarged. It is what it is. If you have extra weight, then you can lose a few pounds and your penis will seem bigger. You could opt for disfiguring surgery to cut the ligament that will let your penis fall down, and give you the appearance of maybe 1/2 inch more for a lucky few, but that is about it. And so you know, most men who have penile enlargement surgery regret doing so. It must be something about all the scarring and pain."

I highly encourage you gentlemen to suBathmateit your comments to that site!

He forgot to discredit natural Penis Enlargement:)

I like the fact that cutting the ligament works but stretching it is unheard of.
