Let me start by saying that I got the idea to take an Epsom Salt bath because I was getting some irritated skin on the bottom side of my shaft from the Bathmate gator. Then I decided to kill two birds with one stone (and save water) and add a tablespoon or so of ES before filling the Bathmate with water. It took about 3 days to cure my skin irritation and I found many other benefits which I will list below. I do not know if this will have any adverse affect of the Bathmate. My plan now is to continue to add ES 2 or 3 times a week during my Bathmate sessions. I have used it for one week every day now.

Here are my findings
1. The little microscopic bubbles that were coming in through the Bathmate valve stopped immediately during the first ES use- don't know why.
2. Dramaically reduced sensitivity after pumping.
3. Very soft skin and cures chaffed skin in a few days.

I was hoping that this would help with discoloration because the ES is said to draw blood towards it to aid in healing. So far it seems to have helped a little but its hard to say, maybe more time will tell.

good idea. thanks for sharing.

Very good idea, I will try this and let your know how it works for me.

I had been thinking of doing this also I was just concerned on the effect the salt would have on the gaitor?

Heck, I've used all kind of stuff inside, I wouldn't worry about Epsom salt that much. Just wash the unit after your session.
Thanks teeker1, I might try this, I just have to shopping!

I like taking an Epsom salt bath. It always makes my cock and balls smooth as silk. Good for dry irritated skin.

I think, as long as you clean after, it will be just fine.

So what is the concensus on using Epsom salt into a hydro routine? I understand it all depends on how much you add etc. But has there been positive/negative to either of the units involved?
Thanks in advance for any info.

To be honest we have not heard anything since this post happen so it will probably be up to you to see if there’s positive or negative effects. I would test it yourself so we can know for sure.

I'm already taking a bunch of supplements, so why not try it out? The magnesium in it is supposed to help with oxygen use in the body so maybe it will help with the arginine/citruline combo I'm taking.

My main concern would be degrading the Bathmate parts and damaging/breaking it. Another reason to wash it after a session.

I will post my opinion after some investigation.

I did it few times. No issues regarding with the pump, it is salt, it'll dissolve, but it's good to do a very good rinse and wash after you use anything else than water.
Don't really recall any special sensations when I used it. Start with a low amount, naturally. ;) I mainly recall it being used in foot baths or full baths, for some it has helped a lot.

So, go ahead and give it a go, I didn't have any issues but I didn't feel that it added much to my sessions. Except for cost and more work. :D

What is the goal of the salt?

I thought all the new Bathmate pumps in the last few years had smooth sleeve inserts now inside the gaitors to prevent pinching/irritation?

Sigh, just realized I replied to an ancient thread.

Should promote better blood flow and clear any "blockage", among many other things.
"Epsom salt is actually magnesium sulfate, a pure, time-tested mineral compound with dozens of uses."
Quote from one site. I've used several magnesium products with success. I actually have Magnesium oil if I ever feel a cramp in my calf, it has helped quickly so far.

Yup, it's an older thread and not too many reports about the usage of Epsom salt.
It can be beneficial but I wouldn't expect too much out of it. For me it seemed like a hassle to use it as I mainly do Girth program (SRT 5x5x3) routine. One could consider doing a very low intensity pump with the Epsom salt added, for 10-15 minutes, as long as there's no fluid retention.

Yes, it's an old thread but I'm new to the scene. Thanks for input. I will try it tonight.

I've wondered this myself. Neat read. I'll try it next time i pump.

Yeah I don’t see much use in using Epson salt’s and you’re right if you’re doing the 5×5×3 it’s gonna be more of a headache than anything else.
